September: The Busiest Month in Fashion
September: The Busiest Month in Fashion
September is always the most exciting month in the fashion calendar. It marks the start of autumn—fashion’s, and my, favourite season. I love the layers, the rich autumn colours, and the mix of luxurious fabrics like leather, wool, and cashmere. This is the time of year when styling feels most creative and inspiring.
My London Fashion Week Experience
This year was particularly special for me because I had the incredible opportunity to take part in London Fashion Week 2025, working as a dresser for rising designer Rory William Docherty. The backstage energy was exhilarating—it truly does take a village to put on a fashion show.
Once the models stepped onto the runway, the emotions backstage were real: pride, excitement, even tears. Rory’s collection was extraordinary: handmade details like glass bubbles, light fabrics, and vibrant colours. Each piece felt like a work of art, designed for someone unique. It was the perfect way to close the final day of London Fashion Week.

Standout Designer Collections
Even though I wasn’t physically at the other fashion weeks, I followed them closely. With so many creative directors making their debuts, this season was full of fresh perspectives. Here are my highlights and personal favourites from the Spring/Summer 2026 collections:
Bottega Veneta by Louise Trotter – A strong, innovative collection with new silhouettes. Designed by women, for women.
Fendi – Playful, fresh, and highly wearable. The handbags were outstanding.
Schiaparelli – Always dramatic, always bold. Pure creativity on the runway.
Hermès – No one does leather like Hermès. The cuts and colours were timeless.
Tom Ford – Simply the sexiest show of the season.
Givenchy by Sarah Burton – Feminine tailoring with strength and elegance. The suiting pieces were standouts.
Balenciaga by Pierpaolo Piccioli – A fresh revival. Lightness, colour, and femininity brought the house back to life.
Victoria Beckham – A collection I always look forward to. Each year, it gets stronger in shapes, fabrics, and wearability.

Spring Fashion Trends 2026: Back to Wearable Classics
One of the biggest fashion trends for spring 2026 is a return to classic pieces—tailoring, suits, skirts, and dresses that can be worn in real life, not just admired on the runway. This shift makes high fashion feel more wearable and practical, which is refreshing to see.
As a personal stylist, I always encourage clients to invest in timeless designer pieces that they can wear for years. When you’re spending more on fashion, longevity and versatility are key. Great clothes should be lived in, not just saved for special occasions.
Final Thoughts
September truly is the busiest and most inspiring month in fashion. From my behind-the-scenes experience at London Fashion Week to following the major designer shows across the world, one thing is clear: fashion is moving towards practical luxury—beautiful, wearable, and timeless pieces. And that’s exactly the kind of style I love to create for myself and my clients.
Love,
